Founded back in 1990, Septic Flesh are one of the most prolific Greek death metal acts on the scene.

The album was released through Season of Mist in April 2011. 'The Great Mass' is the 8th full-length studio album by Greek death metal act Septicflesh (formerly Septic Flesh). There is no doubt that extreme metal bands were ahead of this umpteenth wave of eternal doom and pessimism on the nature of humanity’s utter stupidity and some such as Greek’s own SEPTICFLESH have constructed a soundtrack or two in its honor even in the most remote nooks and crannies of this here global village. They were able to raise over $7000! With 'Woven' now complete, Helsott is looking to cement their presence in the halls of metal, and looking to ally them-selves with a reputable record label to help attain the international recognition to help nurture the environment for a successful band.Īs the Greek economy continues to crumble into the eternal fires of Hades threatening to take down the entire European Union in its wake, a few signs of life still resonate from the fertile Hellenic soils amongst the olive stomping ceremonies and the esoteric speeches of Greek economist Yanis Varoufakis explaining in great detail how in vivid detail of how we’re all just plain fucked. The demand for a full-length Helsott album was great, so they developed a successful crowdfunding campaign via indiegog to fund the album. The EP, Folkvangr sold out of all copies very soon on tour, and merchandise sales were impressive every night of the tour, forcing early supply reorders. Knowing the value of this opportunity, Helsott seized the moment, and made sure to take advantage of the crowds they would be performing in front of. These great opportunities were seized by the band sky-rocketing their popularity regionally, and placing the band on the radar of Rock the Nation USA, who offered the band a spot on the popular 'Paganfest 2013' lineup which they were the only North American act on the entire North American tour in support of Ensiferum, Tyr, Heidevolk, and Trollfest. After quickly becoming heroes in the Southern California region, promoters in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange County markets quickly took notice of the work ethic and draw of the band, and rewarded Helsott with their choice of touring acts to support. Helsott's popularity has been growing at an extremely rapid rate. The diverse music is centered on the Pagan Themed lyrics which unite the album as a whole.

Musically, Helsott incorporates many different styles and genres, always keeping a fresh and enjoyable listen that doesn't get stale.

Mass is over, the sense of having participated in some grand ritual, something rare and special, is palpable.įormed in February 2010, Helsott is America's answer to the extremely popular Pagan Metal genre.
